In this eye-opening book, David Servant takes a close look at what the New Testament actually teaches about saving faith, God's transforming grace, and "the holiness without which no one will see the Lord" (Hebrews 1214)

This book examines the modern gospel that is so popular in America and around the globe, but that is often lacking when compared to the gospel of the Bible. The primary difference is that the modern gospel portrays a grace that is foreign to Scripture, a grace that is actually a license to sin. Whereas the gospel of the Bible reveals a grace from God that offers people a limited time to repent and a promise of freedom from sin. Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more" (John 811). You can be certain that if that woman continued in her sin, when she stood at Christ's judgment seat after her death, she did not hear the same words again. Likewise, God is graciously giving every person a limited opportunity to repent, so that each person will stand before Him forgiven and striving to follow Him to "enter through the narrow gate" (Matt. 713).

Other than the Bible, this is the best book I've ever read regarding what it truly means to be a Christian. David pulls no punches as he lays scripture upon scripture to make it crystal clear that without holiness no one will see the Lord [Hebrews 12:14]. This book was very convicting about my current standing as a professing Christian who realizes I'm not all I should be, but also offered abundant hope and a clear path toward sanctification and the holiness that will give me the assurance of salvation that I have been missing.

The Great Gospel Deception edition by David Servant Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

Good book!
Holy Scriptures were given to us by God to convey to us His Will. It is a written record for all of us, so that anytime we can read it and listen to it. However, Scriptures have to be interpreted well, as any other book, and this is where the problem starts with many Christians, who think that we don't have to do anything else besides listening to God's Word. We have to act on it, and our response to God's Word is "faith which works through love" (Gal 56). This faith expressed in love is no other than holiness, and this is what the book tries to teach us. It is a needed lesson for all of us.
A little off kilter in places, but is a desperately-needed voice in the wilderness of Evangelical versions of the gospel.
This book is for all those that claim to be sons and daughters of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No one never know enough to relax and let our guards down when the devil is deceiving the very children of God. Jesus says" make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to" (NIV Luke 1324). Strive to live holy because it's holiness or hell .Get right so we can enter into eternal life in Christ. This book is an eye opener and I believe this author had to be led by the Holy Spirit to put out such a message in these last and evil days. Let this book change Your life in Christ and draw you closer to Him more then ever before.
While the book is full of important biblical references, I have had to put it down about half way through, and write this message. Unfortunately it seems the author is intent on telling Christians about how greedy they are and miss the most important tenant of Jesus message - "But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And he (Jesus) said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets." Matt 22.34-40 - So yes it's important to demonstrate Gods love by not being greedy, but His power in our lives, comes from His love for us, and it's this power we can draw on to make disciples!
The synoptic Gospel Books - Lessons from Saints Matthew, Mark, Luke and John still stand as true and inspired words for all His Believers even today, some 2,000 + years after Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to Heaven. There is NO deception when reading any of their words when reading through the entire New Testament as a whole Book. Remembering what Jesus told us as the two best commandments and in our Commission for all believers - Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. AND Love your neighbor as yourself. These along with the Ten Commandments are the Great Commission. Go and Tell. The fields are ready ... it is time to harvest...
Copy of my review of his book, "Heaven Word Daily".....
I'll look for more from David Servant. His work includes insights into the Word of God which reinforce & expand my knowledge and 'dwelling in the Word'. He is adamant about including all of Christ's rules to follow, not just the ones that sound good in church pews. Yes, D.S., what a Sin it is for any pastor to forget to tell his flock (ever!), that Believing is not the only requirement that Jesus gives us to share eternity with Him (despite the 1 or so verses that say it is all that is needed). Yes, let's follow all the information we have from God, not just the one.

I came to find the humor in the author's comments about Calvinism/Unitarianism - - as the author repeatedly mentions, Calvinism does disagree with Scriptures. D.S. provides many scriptural examples that show that EVERYONE is INVITED to CHOOSE to be a Christian; it is not a PRE-selected group of individuals who God decided He wanted in His Kingdom. Because God has already seen the future, He does know which ones of us WILL choose to Believe/Repent/Follow; however, He has invited ALL of us to be part of His Eternal Kingdom.

This author makes the Christian reader want to share with friends, family and everyone the author's (and scriptural) message Don't stop at Believing! Go on to Repent and Follow (Obey) as per Jesus' requirements. Belief should lend itself to a heartfelt inspiration to Repent & Follow/Obey. But, be sure to listen to & follow those urges to be a true Follower! Thank You! )
